Remaining rickrack was indeed the full 7 yards, and it was indeed a little less than half a panel too short. But I got the remainder from a leftover chunk from one of the other tiers, noticed as I was sewing it that it was also a slightly different colour (not nearly enough to be noticeable without sticking your nose right into it), and finished that up hurray! I have enough left to do EITHER the top of the bodice OR the midriff seam but not both. K suggested doing the fronts only, who cares about the back lol. I thought i might be able to get a bit more in a similar enough colour to complete whatever edge I didn't do with the first bit. That would of course require waiting a little longer to get to the store (bc looking online, I could pay as little as $4.50 for 5m, which is far more than I need, and also $15-26 for the privilege of having it mailed). Sounds like a fabric shopping trip is in order.

Complex is introducing Phone/telecoms Company fancy-schmancy lines in the near future and had a booth next to the office yesterday. Get the spiel, get a voucher for the hot dog cart set up right outside my building! Or just go up to the cart and pay for it, which is what I chose to do. I had the fancy schmancy lines before, and while the lines themselves are good, dealing with the company was not. They were also fine when things were fine, but any time I had to call them it was just an exercise in frustration. I had no intention of doing any switching and I did not want to listen to a spiel just for a free hot dog. But I did get myself one, and it was delicious.

This Saturday is knit-in-public day. It is also a fibre festival who will be 2/3 of the way to the next major city, and I am really considering going. There is at least one vendor there whom I want to visit and who won't be doing any other festivals I plan to attend in the near future. It'll be a heck of a trip - gas, entrance, food, yarn... I have such a collection I can't even really work on right now but the pretties, I want them! Some thought to be put in there. My yarn bestie is busy and won't be able to come ("I'd already be packing into your car!" she said hehehe) and we've made a tentative plan for the September show.

Papa J's funeral is tomorrow. We were sent the slide show, which was very sweet and also made all of us cry. I have literally not seen him since 2022 and they had a few recent photos, and it was rather startling to see the changes in such a relatively short period. I guess that's just what happens to meat sacks esp when there are health concerns. (Also, the change in my gramma's appearance just between August 10 and September 1 was downright shocking so... it can happen real fast.) We (the city crew) are not going, but I will make a special effort to see my friend very soon to give her the biggest hug.

Tomorrow's event was with the express purpose of seeing one of the guests, whose meet n greet is in the middle of the day. Not sure if M and I are going to go still, the tickets were free and while it's not the sort of event either of us are big on (me more than her, but still far less than the average attendee), it could be a fun couple of hours doing something different.
