(no subject)

Internet is out at work and facebook won't load on my phone. I feel so disconnected from the world! It's hardly worth worrying about, and there it is anyway. First world problems, I tell YA.

I can't send my purolators via Internet so I have even MORE time to sit here and knit. I've been working on the scarf for dad, but today I decided to frog a leg warmer project in favour of making a Sontag out of it. I should have juuuuuuust enough yarn. I don't know if I'll keep it or if I'll sell it, but it'll keep me busy for now.

Tonight I plan to do the damn dishes and then... Work on a skirt I started last week. And I decided to make a dress out of some fabric mum gave me but I think I only have 4m. I think I can squeeze a jacket and skirt out of it though. It's also a summer dress, because the best time to make a summer dress is after the temps drop to freezing, right?

Dancing starts this week! Yay!!

I NEED to learn to sew. There are all the doll clothes I want to make.

Also SEMPAI!

Honestly the reason I got back into sewing was to make gothic Lolita dresses and doll clothes. Doll clothes are a nice learner CuZ they're so little.

Squuueeeeee sempai!!!! I chickened out off anything f_w but he was so nice and funny and he smelled so good :3 (not as good as manu Bennett but very few people can lol)

What fabrics would you recommend a total beginner use? I want to start working with something reasonably easy to manage.

But but but SEMPAI. That makes it all so worth it right there.

Cottons, absolutely. They're generally easy to handle and don't cost a ton. There's different weights so in general o would stick to quilting cottons, but go touch everything and pick what you like best :D and be sure to wash them first to get any dye and shrinkage out. My first projects a hundred years ago (actually 22 oh god) were a lunch bag, boxer shorts, and an apron.

SOOOO WORTH IT :D I need to get my scanner running so I can scan the pic in gigantic glory rather than just taking a pic of it with my phone lol
