Yeah, I can kind of see that. I did have problems with mine, though I think partly that's from construction and that I cheaped out and used leftovers instead of the sturdier tubing I'd used for my hoop.

You could try it in a pinch, but the boning channels would have to be sewn bigger to accomidate the hoop...
