No, but that was probably the start of it. Fricken Lloyd Robertson of CTV National News said DiabeTUS when introducing a story about how lack of sunlight/vitamin D contributes to juvenile diabeTEES.

but there's no -us markers ;_; It's spelt -es, which is NOWHERE CLOSE to a U sound.

Clearly, the dictionary is wrong. I must go back in time to fix it *crosses arms stubbornly*

....then again, Firefox's spellchecker is telling me that "spelt" is spelt wrong >.>
