totchipanda: (The Boulder Does Not Approve)

(no subject)

I suffered my first visual aura migraine today :( I've been having migraines for most of my adult life, and never had a visual aura. AT first I felt like I had looked into a bright light, but only my right eye was affected. The edges of vision of my right eye looked watery. Since it has been 8 years since my last check up, I hied over to the optometrist and scheduled a quick look.

It went away after that, but was replaced by growing pressure behind my left eye. Within half an hour, a migraine was fit to ruin my entire day. Took some tylenol, and a good thing too, cuz it really was fit to ruin my day. Pain, sensitivity, nausea, the WORKS. The optometrist had a peekyboo and said that while retinal tears have the same symptoms, my eyes looked OK (schedule an appointment! >:C) and it was a visual aura preceding a migraine.

Which I have never in my life experienced.

Not impressed.

Omg, I had no idea what that was! I experienced it twice in the past year, a really bright spot on my eye like I looked into light but I hadn't, and it didn't fade for several hours. Both times I had headaches (although not bad enough to be considered migraines) and it freaked me out because I thought it was some problem with my actual eyes. I tried looking online but I had no idea what it would be called and never found any information. I'm glad to put a name to it finally!

That's really awful though, I hope it doesn't happen again :(

ahhh twice?? D: Yuck! I hope you don't have to go through them again, either, it was the WORST.

(o haaaai, how you been, aside from weird eye phenomena? :D)
