Just needs a facing :)

And which boots? I like them both :( the shorter ones are flat, the tall ones have like a 3" platform heel.

Still to do:

  • Buttons, lots of buttons
  • Top stitching on dress around neck
  • Extending sleeves by an inch, and putting cuffs on
  • Cap headbandy thingy
  • 2 reticules

Also, thx :3 I faced it before I left the house. Hopefully it'll be done tomorrow.

Xlnt. I really do like the taller boots, it's just a better look all the way around. I still haven't decided what boots I'm going to wear with my dress; the more period-appropriate ones are slightly less comfortable so I'm tossing it around.

Oh, and I really hope all y'all are early risers cause we're showing up a LOT earlier than I thought we would be. Turns out that if you get to the good parking lot before 9:30am it's only $10 for the entire day, 11hrs max. So I figure we'll show up around 9am.

I totally agree. I'm going to keep looking for flat knee boots that lace but for now... It'll do. I'm a big fan of comfort, but since we're literally just discussing killing my feet with the crazy-ass boots, I don't think I'm in a position to opine on comfort vs look XD (I have some cute heeled Victorian-esque calf boots too, but they aren't super comfortable either... even if they are totally adorable)

I don't know about anyone else, but I'll likely be up early lol. I don't sleep well in new places.

I have these amazing lace-up knee-high granny boots. They're rather fantastic. But they're slightly less comfortable than the more modern-looking lace-up calf boots. Decisions, decisions. (I'd wear my red lace-ups but they're the wrong shade of red. Although I'm not sure if I'm going to let that stop me. The dress is bright red -- Target-red -- and the boots are a darker red, more like a burgundy. The other two pairs of boots are black.)

I'll doublecheck with Erin. It's like...if we get there before 9:30am, it's $10 for the day. If we get there AFTER 9:30am, it's like $25. Hm. $30 vs. $75 for the weekend (assuming we come up on Sunday which I don't know if we'll do). I think I'll get there early.

Ohhhhh boots *,* How slightly are we talking? Wear 'em one day and go uber-comfy the next? That's totally my plan. (Still don't know what I'm wearing Friday D: )

I'll take $30 for the weekend, Alex. I have a feeling they won't mind. They were up before me every day last time I went, and I don't think I was in bed past 10 on any of them.

That's the thing, I'm not totally sure how slightly is slightly. I wore the short black ones -- which are exactly the same as the red ones -- to Otakon three years ago with this outfit and I was fine for the whole convention. I've worn the tall ones to work more times than I care to count, but I haven't been on my feet all day at work in a long time. I'm thinking I'll toss both pairs in the car and see how my feet feel.

I'll doublecheck with Erin just to be on the safe side. I may need you to help me haul crap up to the room though. XD Two fairly large costumes, plus the accessory shit, plus the doll bag, plus blah plus blah plus blah. XD

Sounds like a solid plan. Ahhh feet, what would we do without you?

You got it XD ahhh I'm so excited :3

Tall boots for photos, comfy boots for actuality :p

Also, I'm so out of the loop, is this cosplay or just hot sewing? *shame*

Hehee that sounds like a solid plan XD

Little of both ;) It's Maylene from Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji, but I love love LOVE that it doubles as loli :D I've only read a few chapters of source, but cute loli-ish outfit with glasses? Yes please.

Oh yay! Oh yeah I think you were talking about Shay bringing her Sebastian. :p

I feel so guilty every time I look at my sewing machine and half-finished projects....

[identity profile] totchipanda.livejournal.com 2013-03-27 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yup XD It would be awesome to get pics together, her Sebastian is awesome.

Gosh, me too D: I promised a friend an outfit like... either 4 or 6 years ago, and I still haven't finished it ;___;

I still believe that one day you will! Haha.

[identity profile] totchipanda.livejournal.com 2013-03-27 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I am! It's very high on my to-do list, I promise!

I also like the tall boots, but def. change if your feet start to hurt.
