Mar. 25th, 2007 10:27 pmI promised a report of the drag show I went to on Friday night, so here it is :D
I was told that the show would start at 10, so there was no point showing up any earlier than that. I caught a bus at 9:45 (it was either that or 8:45...) and wound up at the Roost by 10:15 (but not before a dude sat in front of me and put his elbow into my space X< ). I met up with my peeps and was introduced to a lovely drag queen named Mimi. She was wearing a shiny shiny silver dress. Got a drink and the show eventually started around 10:45, 11-something? It was just an amatuer show, put on by the UofA's GLBTQ club (the name of which escapes me today..) as a fundraiser? So there were only a handful of performers. Not too many other drags in the audience either, a couple hot drag kings... the girl with the jello shooters was hot too.
Anyway, Mimi was up first, then a king who did "Sexbomb" OH that reminds me i need to link that! and Then.. Hmm, I'm not sure on the exact order, but the Naked Chef did Le Poisson from The Little Mermaid XD Fuck that was awesome. He took out the curtain when he exited. Joe's friend "Kimono Dragon" performed a lovely dance song with TONS of great moves, some of which I swear are stripper moves, but whatever. Apparently (s)he was worried about the performance because (s)he didn't have a lot of time to practice. Another (very hot) King did "you sexy thing" with tons of hip thrust action XD. His name was "(Sir?) Oscar the Wild Stallion". The last performance was a queen with a GREAT wig that had flowers in it.
Then the organisers of the show wanted our help in choosing the winner by way of applause. The Naked Chef was the runner-up, and Ms Kimono Dragon won by a landslide. Everyone cheered reaaaally long and loud and we chanted "DRAGON! DRAGON! DRAGON!" for loooong minutes.
There was a bit of dancing, the silent auction items were announced, door prizes were given away. Around midnight, Joe's group decided to hit up Denny's. We walked over and I could only stay a few minutes if I had to catch a bus, but one of the dudes with a vehicle lives only a block south of me, so I got a ride home and I didn't have to leave :D The kind of ironic thing was, I wound up in a car with 5 dudes I didn't even know. But they turned out OK; mostly video gamers, and I get along juuust fine with most gamers ;) I got in at 2:30 in the morning.
Saturday was our annual Pig 'N' Putt at WEM. I got two hole-in-one's, one of which was on the last hole, and I won a prize! :D A free round of golf, which is ironic because I work for the mall and I get free passes as it is lol. Later in the evening, my brother came over and watched V for Vendetta with me.
Today I had a staff meeting, and afterwards, Tara, Jimmy and I went for brunch, and then met up with Joe and Dean for an imax showing of 300 which was packed!! We wound up sitting in the second row. Fuck it was an awesome movie. Not as gory as I was led to believe, but I loved it. I stopped at Fabricland on my way home for some notions for my loli jumper, killed the battery on my iPod, got a slurpee and have just been bumming around ever since.
Sakuracon in a couple weeks :3 I got to thinking about how I'll get to see
mew_infinity + boy in only a short period of time, and I started feeling just beside myself with joy. It's been 2 years since the last time.
I'm also super-excited to see
mako and
danaka_dollfie again :3 (and
mako, Nicole keeps asking me if we'll get to see you again XD I expect we'll have company at the Cheesecake Factory ;) )
Also, at some point before leaving Seattle, I need to mail Ren off to
angelmecha for a visit. I haven't thought about how I'm going to get him back yet, but it's not an issue ATM lol.
I miss you all <33333333333333
