I'm just going to stop saying that I need to post more often, because I say it a lot and then I never do.

Well, it's been an "exciting" month. The end of September was relatively uneventful -- I can't really remember any of it. But October... The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we got a notice from the office that we were being sprayed for bedbugs the day after Thanksgiving. Everything in the house had to be packed up and placed in the middle of the floor with access left to the furniture. Dad had planned on going to Calgary for the long weekend, but he was able to cancel those plans and stay. Which was good, because there was no way I would have been able to complete it on my own. Word is that we're clean; all four of us are. My non-attached neighbour thinks the people who moved out made it up so they could get new beds for free. But everything has to stay in the middle of the room for at least another week, as they have to come back for an inspection/follow-up spray next week.

The other downside to this is that my sewing room is all packed up, and the other half of it is also holding Dad's stuff. I can do precisely nothing related to sewing at the moment. Which is what I really want to do :(

But Nanowrimo is coming up :3 I haven't quite settled on an idea yet, but I'm getting excited to write.

Which brings me to... computers. I reformatted my netbook, purchased last August, because it was acting very slow. It lasted maybe three weeks, and after installing a Windows update, it wouldn't boot. I reformatted again, and a week later, same thing. Windows update, wouldn't load Windows, and it wouldn't perform the reformat. So I took a chance and downloaded Ubuntu and installed it. It also wouldn't boot, and subsequent reinstalls would time out and fail. So now we think it's a hard drive issue. Le sigh.

And my laptop is 7 years old and still truckin', but it's been performing physical memory dump BSODs about once a week. The desktop's power supply was fixed, but it is also 7 years old and slow. So I was a bad girl and bought a new laptop. It's apparently part of an old generation of processors and I should return it and get something newer and nicer, but so far... I love it. It's got 4gb of memory, which is more than all three of my other computers combined. I've been playing and wasting hours of my life to facebook games that I haven't been able to play in months.

I also bought a new sheet set for my bed. I realized it had been 1-3 years since I purchased new bedding, and a set came on sale that had exactly all of the bedding I needed. It's very nice to sleep on :3
