They were paving my street last night when I got home. Holy smokes it's so loud! I know why they closed it off and did it at night (it's a main street, busy during the day even when it's not blocked off to one lane each way) but shit son, it's still a residential area! There's apartments on both sides for 7 blocks (maybe half a mile? I can walk it in 15 minutes) and then houses for 4 more north of me. SO LOUD. I don't know I managed to sleep (or how my upstairs neighbour managed sexytime with all the racket... then again, I never hear anyone with him, so who knows what's actually happening up there besides noises and "YEAH!!!!!!!") but I did. Then I was woken up at 7am by metal being ground, and general construction sounds. I LOVE SUMMER Y'ALL.
I could have slept at my friend's house. Her guest bed is approximately as soft as concrete, not to mention Guido would have given me even more sass for missing his breakfast.
I looked to see if I'd cut a waistband for the petticoat or not. Either I didn't or it's not in the pile, but I did also find 2 more petticoat ruffles that didn't make it to the machine the other night. Oops? I had a hard enough time fitting 6 on, nevermind 8! So I saved one and cut the other to make a waistband, which is now attached and awaiting hand-sewing. I will take that to my friend's house and sew it while I watch Olympics later. So close!
I keep telling myself that I don't need to rush over there this morning. I want to vacuum the dust that was behind my bed, because even though it's been nearly 3 weeks since I moved it, this is the first chance I've had to do that. I don't want to wake up my downstairs neighbour though, so I will do it around 10. I looked through my fabric photos today, and I found a couple that might make nice dresses, but I'm really sure I don't have enough to be as fancy as I want to be. The fabrics are also in the hardest-to-get-to bin, so they will be staying right where they are for now.
Oh, I just found the pattern I want to use for Sophie. I can definitely do that today!
Time for coffee, and breakfast, and then... we'll see!
