Corset mock-up again
Aug. 30th, 2016 11:14 pmI taped some zip ties along the boning lines on the pattern. Shape is still good, I really like it! (I don't like that my belly pushes the bottom out some 4", but that's a lot of fighting to win against genetics, so I'll just have to live with it, I suppose. At least I managed to bend the busk a little so it's not sticking straight out anymore.) I still want to lower the back edge a bit, and interestingly, I think I need to add height in the waist through the front and side panels and then possibly have to remove it from the top. The bust gores are just far too low, and it's not even that it's not sitting right. It's sitting very comfortably. I have a high bust/long torso, I always have to take extra fabric out of the top of the chest on bodices. If I put it up where the gores should be, the waist is MUCH too high. I wish I had a decent mirror to take pictures with. I also forgot to sew down the changed gores. The left side sits fine, but the right side likes to unpin itself and cause weirdness.
Still trying to suss out my long weekend. Probably going to see a movie or two with my brother, and hopefully a stitch-n-bitch with the Regency ladies. Other than that, who knows!
