Rollercoaster
Sep. 23rd, 2016 08:47 pmUps and downs today. Got some really great news in the morning after a good sleep, but some really shitty news in the afternoon. Can't talk about the good news yet, and the shitty news is that my sister had to put her cat down earlier this week. So sad. Loved that fat marshmallow of a cat. He was 15 and his brother has been gone since the end of December, and he'd dropped half of his weight, so it was time. ;__;
Only going to Expo on Sunday now. I don't want to miss too many days of dance, and also I really can't afford it.
Trying to get my shit together. I picked up some items I had at nicole's to try and sell them on Etsy. Maybe I'll have more luck there.
Oh, and to solve my petticoat problem, I have some similar-width green that I can add to the bottom for a bit of pizazz. That's a tomorrow- or next-week-project though.
Edit: Finished up many of the things on the UFO, only buttons/holes now. Woot!
Sat down with one of the uniform patterns. It's a little annoying! The minimal directions don't bother me, there's a nice construction diagram (that's... a bit odd on its own. All the corners are numbered, but if you sewed them by numbers, you wouldn't be able to wear it), and I'm a LOT more experienced than I was the first time I attempted uniforms. No, the annoying thing is that it's listed in sizes 6-12, but there's no measurement chart. What size should I trace out? I wear anything from an 8 to a 14 in RTW, I'm solidly in the 14-16 in Simplicity sizes, I can't even remember what I am in the other Big 4 sizes. There's still people offering this for sale on Etsy and eBay, but not a sizing chart to be seen. I guess I will just have to measure them and find out.
The other interesting part is that the one I looked at I didn't realize has a "partition" to make shorts underneath. Interesting to find out how that works!
