Monday blues
Aug. 12th, 2019 09:11 amIt's Monday and I am honkin' BORED. It's barely 9 am.
This past weekend was the local anime con. My partner was off running one of the major events, so left me in charge of her vendor booth with my youngest sibling (who was not there for most of the day) and one of her friends. The hall had a food booth catered by the venue but they also sent people around with a pre-order list, so I was able to buy food without having to stand in line for it. Win! We were pretty busy all day. After the hall closed, we went to a delicious Japanese restaurant and I didn't get home until almost 11 pm.
One of the booths was nothing but ramen noodles, $5 for 10 packets. When I first arrived on Friday one of the group I was with asked if I wanted "noods" and all I could think of was "nudes", took a few moments to catch on lol. I did buy some, and in researching after they are an Australian brand. They're also pretty tasty!
I don't know that I would have gone if I hadn't been in the booth. The few times I braved the outside for potty breaks or whatever, the age group gets younger and younger every year. Yet it's one of the few times I can go to "the outside" and feel like I'm in a crowd of people who get me. I'm so removed from whatever's happening in the anime world, I had no idea what the cosplayers were cosplaying, I recognized a whole 2 titles on the viewing list, but at least i totally get the nerdery and passion.

I have a picnic on September 14 that a friend and I are planning to wear our riding habits to. I guess I better figure out a hat!
