Jan. 12th, 2023 08:30 amYesterday I took a nap (it was lovely), ate dinner and then started on stuff. My cap ruffles are steamed (it really helped!). I finished the poofs and bow and tacked it on (I love it so much). Did lay out the faux fur prepared for a muff before the flood, but did not decide on a silk. One end is not cut straight. Pulled out the real fur bits trimmed from a coat that I intend to turn into a muff, but it was kinda weirdly shaped? So I put those away again. Eyed the space with a mind of where am I gonna put everything (I need a display area for my NINE sewing machines)
Twisted up my yarn babies. They look amazing <3 I think I will at least get some dyes and bare yarn and see if I can't replicate the first one I made. But maybe not for a bit yet because...
In less than a month I will be going to LA with some local friends. We are going for a concert, but took a few extra days and we are gonna PACK THEM FULL of various things! At first I thought we were just gonna do Universal, but that has turned into Disney, Universal, possibly a zoo. I'm taking an extra day on either side to prepare/relax, especially as I live in a different city and will be traveling to/from them before/after we go. I will likely not have any time to meet up with local peeps on this trip, and that is OK! This is a different group of friends (we met through cosplay and nerdery). I probably won't even get to visit the fashion district. So I'll just have to come back another time! But that means tickets and expenses and eating and shopping and and and, so even though yarn dyeing supplies won't be a huge outlay to start, I need to save all of my pennies for the trip! I think today or tomorrow I need to plan out those expenses to make sure I have an idea of what I will be spending.
