Oct. 4th, 2023 07:56 amRed sparkleball has made an appearance this morning, after spending the last 10 days who knows where. Purple and Yellow were the toys of the weekend, Green is currently MIA.
Last weekend I had an extra day off for Truth & Reconciliation Day. I spent it mostly at home, watching Forensic Files and knitting a little, watching the guys move stuff in to an upstairs apartment, and attempting to donate blood. Attempting, because my iron count was 10 units below their threshold. Earlier last week I spent a whole day feeling absolutely dragged out tired (likely a symptom of insomnia, because I started feeling more awake very late in the day), and was lamenting many things, such as that I was supposed to donate blood that night. Oh, I realized, I haven't taken an iron supplement in over a month, I ran out shortly before the move and then was hoarding every penny for that. Rebooked for Friday, went and got a supplement on my lunch break. I really should have rebooked for next month, I knew my iron was going to be too low. I've not yet got the habit of taking one back, but at least they are available.
On Saturday I pulled out a sewing project that I'd cut before moving and started sewing it. I probably could have finished it, had I not been so "meh" about getting the iron out. The kittens were, of course, VERY interested in this fun new thing I am suddenly paying attention to, no stop it you silly gooses, this thing is hot!
Sunday M and I went to see Ain't Too Proud, the musical about the Temptations, which I wasn't too interested in seeing but it's a fun day out for us, plus we paid for it. The theatre was very empty, and I don't think my mom came either. But we enjoyed it. After, we surprised our friends by coming over for the turkey dinner they'd prepared.
Monday, I finally loaded my laundry card and braved the shared laundry. It was fine lol. I bought laundry soda (primarily because scent + feel + not needing to buy as often + it was on sale at Winner's) and am very happy with the results. No scent, no weird film-feeling on my clothes.
Another long weekend coming up (so spoiled this month!) for Thanksgiving. I look forward to more lazy days trying to knit with the kittens and binging TV shows.
