Jan. 16th, 2024 02:40 pmSpoke to my doc yesterday, having changed my appointment to a phone appointment (largely due to the cold, which was still in the -30F range, assuming my car with its 9 year old battery wasn't going to start, meaning I was going to have to bus, and being down 2 coworkers to covid) and he immediately sent off requisitions for bloodwork and a pelvic ultrasound. Nor sure about the blood, but the ultrasound is tomorrow afternoon, and then he will call me. I've been blood-free for almost 5 full days now, which is amazing, but i don't trust that it won't start again. It was 34 out of 41 days, and while the intermediate bleeding was different from the two menstrual cycles, it was not a mood. He asked if I was on BC (no), had travelled (no) or had any history of irregularity (no, it's always been extremely regular; I can remember exactly one missed period, when I was about 14 years old and in zero danger of being pregnant). News as I get it.
I am DEEP in Lockwood & Co. land. I watched the Netflix show at the end of December, which had been on my list since, of course, they'd cancelled it already. The fans rallied around SAB fans when our show was cancelled (and OFMD fans, I see you!) so obviously I was going to support them and signed their petition with plans to watch it. Finally did it and oh man - it was so much fun. The world is experiencing an outbreak of ghosts and supernatural activity, and young people are the only ones who can see the so-called Visitors. I absolutely loved it. It's been not even three weeks and I've watched it 5 times. Immediately got a couple books from the library, and when I finished book 2 and was waiting for book 3, I said F it and bought the series in ebook. And it's just as fun as the show.
That means I've done very little else besides read. The books are written for a middle-grade reading level so even though they're long, they aren't hard. I am obsessed, y'all. The only downside (if it can be called that) is that I can't flip to the last page and spoil myself on how it ends! And I am just so mad at Netflix all over again, it had only been out for three and a bit months before they cancelled it. WTF.
