Sep. 27th, 2024 09:15 amNeighbour Don's project is a go. I thought that instead of embroidering the things he wanted, perhaps an iron-on cut by a Cricut would be the better way to go. When he stopped by the in the evening, he thought the same thing. If I had a machine that could do small embroideries it would be no problem, but I don't. I also don't have a cricut, but my good friends do so that's easy enough to arrange.
Had minimal feline interference for the writing event, which I ended up running and wrote maybe 800 words on. Words is words! Can't edit an empty page after all.
Long weekend here, although Monday is not a "holiday" in the way long weekends usually are. It's Truth & Reconciliation Day so I am looking at some events to attend. But also the relief of mental pressure from going back on Monday cannot be understated. So my plans are:
-start work on the skirt test
-cross stitching, obviously (I finished a section of greenery last night)
-keep cataloguing my fabric
-rearrange some furniture, mostly to get Gussie out of the hallway
-start cleaning Gussie up
-put grommets into the corset
-fit said corset
-maybe keep sewing the corset?
-vacuum jfc the floor is a mess
-make bread
-grocery shopping
-go for a stupid walk for my stupid mental health
-read (I got new library books, and also Kindle Unlimited books)
Speaking of Gussie, I spun the wheel last night and everything is moving smoothly (and sounds sooooo good). I'm wondering why its considered non-working. Perhaps its the treadle belt? I touched it a bit, it's a rubbery one and while it didn't seem particularly brittle, it is also filthy so I didn't handle it much. I happen to have a brand new leather one fitted to the other 27 that hasn't been used because the shuttle holder is bent just enough to make it unusable (after it was launched out of the race at speed when the bobbin ran out... I still don't have a plate cover for it). I'll try switching them once its cleaned up.
