Jun. 10th, 2025 07:42 amThe game was painful. After Florida's fifth goal, the Oilers pulled the goalie. The radio guys opined "this is not a reflection on him at all, this is a mercy." Penalties galore, lots of pushing and shoving, a fight that the radio guys commentated just as enthusiastically as any other part of the game ("what a terrific fight!") and then finally, mercifully, it was over.
I imagined the coaches giving the team a talking-to in the intermission, and remembered that while I was eating lunch one of the TVs was showing "coaches gone wild". Coaches trash talking players and other teams in interviews, a scroll bar of particularly egregious events (of note, a coach who tried to storm the other team's dressing room), and a whole lot of angry white men screaming in players' and referees' faces. Yikes.
ANYWAY. I put a row of rickrack on the two tiers of the skirt and then doubted design choices for more. Do I put it on the hem? On the bodice edge even though the top has a gathered area that will not necessarily lie nicely? Pinned some lines in place and then pinned it all on the dressform and I think I'm gonna go for it. Would that I had enough for multiple lines, that was very popular on many of the images I looked up.
