Also, convince me not to take one of the dolls with me. That was the first thing I told myself, not to take one. Then I thought maybe... then NO. Today I wanted to take Bastet (who is a tiny, and fits handily in the front pocket of a hoodie XD), and concluded that no, I'd rather take one of my own. Ralli is a mini, he'd do... But now I'd prefer to take Saki, he's my oldest and my favourite and I would love to get some pictures of him in one of the parks.

Dear self: DUDE. You're going to spend maybe 4 hours in the parks, and you are NOT going to want to lug him around all day.

Self/Saki: but but but... ;___;

*sigh* time to see what exactly I can pack into which suitcases...

That strikes me as a grade-A bad idea, honestly... they are so expensive and fragile... and even if I don't understand the allure of the damned things, I'd still hate to find out that customs searched your bag and broke one of their heads off.

Oh god, customs regularly had a heyday with mine any time I hopped the border down to the states. One even got swabbed for drugs. :S

That being said: From doing a Japan trip with and without a dorrie, If you're going to meet anyone with dolls (ie Inertia XD) it's worth taking him. If not, don't. You don't want to have to lug around any more luggage than needful ;)

The room he takes up in your luggage could be used to bring back goodies FOR Him. *nod* Your stuff will get banged around during all the travel, don't risk his horribly expensive self and leave him safely at home.

Since it is not entirely uncommon for luggage to be lost or stolen, I wouldn't trust a doll in anything but a carryon... and having had the less than pleasant experience of dragging home two of them from Japan as such, I wouldn't recommend it. XD;

You will probably be having too much fun yourself to really regret not having a doll with you, anyway.

when are you going again? And it's two weeks, right?

DON'T TAKE ANYTHING YOU TREASURE just to say. leave like 1/2 your suitcase empty and pack essentials, then you can get a lot of nice stuff to bring back!

March 24th, technically, just over two weeks. EXCITED.

I was successfully convinced by the above posters and will be leaving Saki (or others) behind :D I am TOTALLY planning on packing lightly so that I have room for all the things I'm going to wind up buying there *nod* This is going to be retail therapy to the extreme.

Hehe, thanks for the input :3 I definitely won't have time to play with dorries except for like one day, so they're going to stay safely home.

They're not as fragile as one might think (oh how many times have they taken headers to the floor...) but you are right. Too pricey! Staying home, they are XD

It seems as though I won't be meeting anyone I know with dorries, so they are definitely staying home XD

I like this plan! (went through pictures today, holy crap on a stick they need more clothes, Ren has been wearing the same pants for well over a year x_X) They can stay safely on the shelf and keep the cats in line *NOD*
