OH LJ, u so funny. I am CLEARLY logged in because I can see some entries on my flist which are locked but as soon as I click on the comments, all of a sudden I'm not logged in? Right, tell me another one :)

Anyway, last weekend I went to Calgary for Otafest and a Regency ball (because we were there and so was the ball) and had a lovely time at both.

My coworker had had a plague in the week leading up to Otafest. She brought out a spare handset for the phone and told me to use it on the first day, seemingly forgetting that we also share a keyboard and mouse, both of which I suspect are bigger germ factories than the phone (let's just say that I am CONSTANTLY cleaning both whenever I'm at the front because I find finger imprints and food residue on the keys and mouse supremely unhygenic, but the wipes are not anti-bacterial). She probably should have gone home that first day, was off the second day by plan, took off a third day, and likely should have taken a fourth day too...

On Tuesday after Otafest my throat was feeling a bit scratchy. Nothing serious. It went on for a couple days, and I wasn't especially interested in eating a whole lot. On Thursday I started to feel achy in my shoulders and arms and it progressed downward until my knees were screaming. I was at the second job that night but my boss, who'd been following my saga on Facebook, told me to lock up after the last class and go home. By the end of the night I had a fever and I called in sick the next day. I wasn't sure if that was the right decision when I woke up (at 10:30 am) but when I actually GOT up, I knew it had been. I spent the day on the couch watching movies and Farscape, napping with the cat, drinking lemon water, and even though I wasn't feeling as feverish as the night before, I was going through hot and cold spells. Gosh it was so much fun.

This morning I feel a lot better but my throat hurts again and I still don't have a lot of energy, so I've passed on dance this morning (no one else needs my plague, and I also don't think I'd have enough energy to get through the whole class) and now my carefully planned weekend is all gone to heck! I was going to do dance, then sew with Nicole, and then tomorrow go to a movie with my bro, but now it's going to be no dance, movie with my bro later tonight, and sew tomorrow. Though I AM glad to be feeling better. Being sick is no fun, especially in summer. Apparently it hit 29C yesterday, but since I was stuck on the couch with hot and cold spells, I didn't even notice. (I would have been at work anyway though spending at least some time outside. Also, my apartment faces east and the GIANT tree out front has leafed, which blocks a lot of direct sunlight and controls the heat a lot better than I thought it might before I lived it last summer)
