Switching tracks

The anxiety broke on Thursday, and it is such a relief to feel the tension slowly draining away. I used to feel like that ALL THE TIME, and then the spike of early March is 10 times worse. I drew a tarot card this morning just to "check in" (since I found my books yesterday), and I drew the Empress. Didn't really need to read the description to figure that out lol
Since the sacque has reached "miles of hemming" stages, I've decided to spend the bulk of my non-TV-watching sewing time working on other stuff. That made me think that I should switch back to my 20 in 20 project, and I only got a little ways into it yesterday before realizing that I needed a moment to brain out where I'm at and where I need to go. I wrote it out in a notebook, a little, but I'm especially here right now, on a Saturday, to type it more quickly.
I broke from posting to cuddle the cat (he insisted) and take a nap. Take 2!
So I have my undies mostly finished. I have one skirt just needing closures and possibly rehemming as I think the current one stretched out. The other skirt which I intended to be matchable with the waist to be a dress has some issues I need to rework. Namely, the placket is just SO bulky and it gaps. I have shirtwaists in progress - the one I thought was good has a HUGE armscye, and the other is from a commercial pattern that I apparently cut the wrong size of? I need/want to test out the adjustments to a full bust.
I put the plaid skirt I made in December on, intending to mark it for hemming. A: it's difficult to mark it for hemming from the floor while you're wearing it, but hte "fashionable" length of 8" is going to be perfect, so I will try out the trick shown in many books to use a table to mark an even height around the hip, and then I just need to know how long the skirt should be from there to mark off the rest. B: it's just too tight. I got it pinned in place, but it's set for a 32" band and I need 34". I started to pull it off and decided to come read the sewing manuals again before I got too far. I'd also like to revisit the placket because it's also quite bulky and we don't want to look like a sloppy human, now do we?
Other pieces I want to think about:
-Wearing History's Gloria blouse. I'm really excited about this one because I can use the drafts I've been doing to make it a little larger.
-Coordinating skirt to make the blouse an evening look
-A coat. I have the matching jacket for the skirt, and lots of green wool to make it a set. LOTS. Im loving the lookr of the green with navy accents.
-Dresses. I have one cut from raw silk that I FINALLY found a guide about how to properly create a one-piece dress with (meaning shirtwaist and skirt cut in one), and I have orange and white gingham set aside for a summery piece that I will make as a two-piece dress similar to Samantha's black and white one.
-More petticoats. I just love them, and the one I have based on WH pattern isn;t appropriate for all occasions
