Sep. 8th, 2023 07:26 amAnother day, another hour-long nap upon arriving home lol. Wednesday evening I unpacked and rearranged a bit, but yesterday it was video games and napping. I was in bed at 9:30 (I thought oh I can unpack the bedroom a bit. WRONG it's all fabric and sewing stuff) and asleep by midnight. Alas, I was also awake at 4:30 am and predictably was getting sleepy again around the time I need to get up. Hoping I can sneak out early today.
One of my thinky thoughts while I was lying there trying to at least rest was... AM I READY FOR KITTENS???? I plan to get the things i need tonight - food, litter, toys. But everything else, am I ready?? What if -- (anxiety spiral). Omgomgomg. My place is still horridly underprepared, packing wise, but also I don't want to leave them with dad any longer than I have to, and if this is the only thing stopping me, I'll NEVER be ready.
It's been... a very long time since I had kittens in the house. Guido and Smudge came home in 2005. Yoda and Zilla were 2001. Nuriko was 1998. I remember some of the terror of kittens, bouncing around the house at all hours of the day and night, and they're 5.5 months old, so they're gonna be teething again soon which means I'm gonna need something they can chew on.
This plays into some of my other worries, like I'm really at a point where I need to load up the bookshelves, but they are as yet unsecured. On the other hand, they have been climbing dad's bookshelves, which are just as high and not quite as stable without issue.
Also of delight this evening: grocery shopping. I need to make a list.

Date: 2023-09-08 04:28 pm (UTC)You can assume that the refrain running through my head today is "kittens kittens kit-TENS! Kittens kittens kit-TENS!" because my tiny loves are coming home!
And multiple convos of "well I guess I should do my reports instead of shopping for the kittens". I'm getting them. They're coming. End of story! I'm just an anxious human lol
