Oct. 10th, 2023 10:15 amSparkleball update:
Only red was around for most of the weekend. I found purple and yellow yesterday, and those got happily chased all about too (Calcifer was taking purple to the top of the 7-foot-tall bookcases, dropping it off, and leaping down to catch it). Green still MIA.
Weekend update:
Mostly knitting. Finished the fingerless mitts I had at work (I had 6 rows of lace then ribbing, and a thumb to put on of mitt 2, so those are now ready to use), made an effort at the wrap. Discovered I put 4 extra rows in when I didn't need to, but not taking it out now! Rediscovered a pair of toe-up socks which are very close to increasing for the heel. I sort of signed up for a mystery knit along for Halloween mitts, and I pulled some yarns out for that but have not made any clear decisions yet.
Patina blouse was finished, and it's so cute! I planned to wear it today but completely forgot when I dragged my ass out of bed. I had the most perfectest buttons from my gramma's stash to use too. They were a little smaller than recommended, but it doesn't really matter.
One changed I would like to make, potentially, is with the dart. It currently ends well on the side of my breast and i don't think it's proportioned correctly not to make a pucker. But I absolutely loved sewing it up, the sewalong on YouTube is very thorough, and I want to make more. I even have ideas on how to adapt it for a more "true" 19teens-20's style pattern (basically, rotate the dart out and don't put it back in in the front).
Yesterday I moved the one bookshelf into the pantry and unpacked a lot of the things that needed to go on shelves. It's not ideal nor perfect, but it's better than the bags and better than the shelf hanging out in the little nook by the door. I did that, alas, right before I ran out to my aunt's Thanksgiving dinner so it needs reworking and reassessment.
None of the spices fit anywhere on it. I need a separate rack for that, ideally one that would fit close to the stove. And I'd like to get my own set of jars for it, not the ones that my friend purchased years ago.
Dishes are ongoing. The kittens tried to help by drinking dishwater lol.
