Two coworkers down with COVID, possibly a third (away today unexpectedly but no info on why), and then maybe also our floater. Stay away from me you heathens!

Did you know that if you don't have one of the plate covers for your vibrating shuttle machine, if you run out of bobbin thread it will kind of catch in the shuttle and launch it at speed out of the open hole? WELL IT DOES. It took me awhile to find the bobbin (it was under the machine in the little pan) (and I just realized that I unhooked the treadle belt to tip the machine back, but didn't replace it. The kittens have likely found it already, but it's old and slipping anyway so) and then I decided to see if I could figure out why the presser bar doesn't like to stay up. Pulled the plate off, and it is SO dusty inside. I should have known lol. Possibly the adjustable pressure wasn't down far enough. TBD.

Finished the last Lockwood book late on Tuesday, and I am just SO MAD that netflix cancelled the show. I would give SO MUCH to see the cast act out the rest of the series, it would be so good. Predictably, I am obsessed.

Had it done yesterday. I had to go with a full bladder so I was very uncomfortable by the time they finally got me on the table. "Oh you ARE full," she said as she got the wand on my belly lol. Asked for the reason why I was in, and I told them the same thing I told my doc - mid-cycle bleeding, no it's not spotting, it was bleeding. Not menstrual, it was a different sort, but it required products to manage, so. They did offer the transvaginal ultrasound, which would have given them a better set of images, but I was very uncomfortable with that and declined (something for me to unpack later). When they left the room they'd left images of my kidneys on the screen so I can't even begin to guess what might be going on in there. Doc should have the images by Friday.

Hope the medical establishment is able to figure out the base issue and treat it easily and quickly.

For my pre-abortion exam I got a TVU. Was it required by the Commonwealth? Oh, probably, in some sort of effort to shame me into loving a tiny weird clump of gross cells. Not to talk you into it or anything, but it was done respectfully and politely.

I have no doubt they would have been very professional about it. One of the conditions they gave was if Id been sexually active which... no. Nothing happens in there besides period management for 25+ years. That was part of the reason why I declined, but there was also a feeling of being perceived? Some weird gender feels? I don't know fully what that feeling was besides "absolutely not", which is for me to think about it in the next little while.

Sometimes there are fibroids, tumors, or other things going on inside the fem parts that have nothing to do with being sexually active. Usually, I want as much done in one appointment than having to go back in, but that might be because there is always some sort of copay for every visit in the U.S. Bargain/discount health costs - get as much as they'll give you in one visit. Heh.

Glad that they're looking into things! At least there's some progress there. I had one of those inside ultrasounds once (in addition to the regular abdominal ultrasounding), when I was getting checked out for weird nausea symptoms, because they were looking for endometriosis. My experience, if it's helpful, but please ignore if it is not: for me, it was very strange and uncomfortable, but not any worse than a pap test. Also, to be reassuring, if it is a kidney thing, kidneys are very resilient and you only need one. (I say this as a kidney donor with multiple family members who have had kidney issues.) I am also glad that you should hear back soon. I am sending lots of good thoughts your way and I hope that you get an answer with an easy treatment.

Weird gender feels makes perfect sense for a reason to demur.

But as Marianme says below, unexpected knobbly bits are not always associated with sexual activity. If there is no other reason for your constant heavy bleeding, please consider a scan - whether internal or external - to rule them out.

That is a very good point. Alberta is trending very hard towards american style health "care" so in the not so distant future I might need to be considering factors like copays etc (grr grumble grump)

I will definitely do it if it comes up again, I think I was surprised (though I really should not have been, considering) and hadn't considered that to be a possibility.

Yeah, fuck no that was neither little nor a pinch, but at least it's over by the time you react to it. The weird scraper brush alternative is just as unpleasant in it's own way.

Um... how to describe? It's a weird and tense feeling, but mostly just physical discomfort for a short period of time during and after. I was definitely walking a little funny (gingerly, I guess) after I got out from the ultrasound, but it passed quickly.
