Friday evening:
-grocery shopped
-picked up grommets
-cross stitch

Saturday:
-gave up on cross-stitch because the line I was working on was directly in the crease that had been folded for 10+ years and was no long legible
-purchased digital copy of the pattern
-but it was in a different coding and also digital so did not cross stich for the rest of the weekend GASP!!!
-grommetted and fit the corset. As expected, the 40 was too big, so I took it all in 1/8" on the four body seams
-nap

Sunday:
-tried corset on again, and aside from a couple small changes, the sizing was good. Gave myself a WICKED pin scratch (it's 2" long!)
-unlaced it, stitched the changes, then pressed both the corset and the strips for channeling
-hand-basted the channels in place while watching Agatha All Along
-stitched the channels and marked the lengths of boning
-tried to relace it, but the kittens (especially Calcifer) were very excited to be helping and as it was after 9pm, I put it down

Monday
-put the lacing back in, and the boning from the first version of this corset. A couple places need longer bones but it is otherwise good
-top and bottom edges trimmed (directions only say "trim" but not by how much! HOW MUCH????) and bottom edge prepared for binding. No biding actually done bc I felt like I didn't have enough fabric prepared and I don't have tape of the correct size. Meh!
-napped
-prepared first step of pattern test, woo!

I wasn't feeling super great all weekend, a little run down and scratchy. A heavy wind moved in and cooled the apartment off quit significantly, so I spent large chunks of time just chilling on the couch with a video game or my phone while the kittens napped on me. Is there anything better than a cool room with a warm kitten or two in your lap? I don't think so. I was going to visit people, make use of a Cricut for Don's project, but none of use were really up to it. Bleh.

For my test, I pulled out three wool fabrics to choose from, and the small handful of taffeta scraps (both silk and poly) for pocket linings. I have 6-ish yards of brown houndstooth, 2 yards of forest green gabardine, and 4 yards of grey plain weave (might be twilled, but I don't believe so; I'd kind of prefer this to become trousers, though). The green I'd intended to sew up into a teens-era skirt for the past almost-four years now, and I THINK I can squeeze it out, particularly if I face the hem with a different material. The fabric is 60" wide and has really nice selvedges, that should give me enough wiggle room for the basic skirt. Well, I guess I've talked myself into it lol. Green it is.

Last night I of course wasn't tired. Put my book down deliberately at midnight, played the pattern matching games until 1, where I then drifted off to sleep but only deep enough to be aware that i was mostly unconscious. I came to the surface some time after 4 and looked at my phone finally at about 10 to 5 am. I am so freakin' tired. I don't know if I'll have ANY energy to even make myself dinner, let alone sew anything or stitch. I'll probably just read and/or play games. Nothing too taxing.
