I decided to work on the costume anyway. I have the front piece traced out and currently pinned to my mannequin to see if the placement is good, and now I have the fabric up here and read to lay it out and HOPE BEYOND HOPE that 1yd is enough ;___; (I bought 2 originally, but needed some for the red velvet suit of doom.) I saw someone on cosplaylab made a Lady costume out of 1.5yd, and I'm beyond amazed that she made a full suit jacket and booty shorts out of that little.
(eta: I think it'll do, if the front piece is not necessarily 100% on the grain. Could be interesting since there's a slight stretch to the fabric)
Uhhmm.. I found the Elizabethan clothing patterns that I thought I'd lost.. they were safely tucked away in their bags in the most logical place I could have put them. I think I even looked at them once before but the picture on the cover made me think of the other pattern she made, which I didn't buy, and so dismissed it from my mind. Then, by some fluke, I found a plastic bag hanging on a chair with the bodice and sleeve patterns I'd cut for myself. WTF? Well, I'm not gonna complain XD Mom is gonna come over on Saturday to help me work on that a bit. Possibly gonna go to Winter War on the 18th, and if I'm REALLY ambitious (which we all know I won't be) I can wear it then :)
I have 17 days to make the jacket, Allan's armor (he's coming over on Tuesday or Wednesday so I can fit it), and possibly make a dress for myself. It'd be much simpler to wear one of the ones I already have, but it'll depend on how ambitious I feel at that point. I dunno what was up with today, I organized a few more things downstairs, traced out some patterns, took down the tree, brushed and BioSilk'd my 'Hime wig (which has been sitting out since the end of October... it needed some TLC).. I didn't exactly strain myself today, but I'm so flipping tired...
