The Moving Saga, part 1 + Harry Potter

totchipandaHokay, so. On July 19, we moved my bed and my kitties and some other stuff from the apartment into the townhouse. Yaaaaaay :D That part is pretty boring. I walked to work for the first time the next morning. Work was work-like. I walked home. Random life-stuff, yadda yadda yadda ;D
Nicole and I dressed up in our Harry Potter costumes and headed back to the mall for the Chapter's release party of Harry Potter. It was pretty neat; everyone got sorted into houses, there were decorations everywhere, and little activity centers. The attached Starbucks was giving out free "butterbeer" which was Jones root beer and milk. Very interesting. We watched a shadow play about uhh.. The Three Little Wizards? Which was hilarious. My patronus is apparently an Otter :D I entered a draw for the "grand prize" which was a stay in the Hotel, which I wouldn't have been able to accept 'cause I work for the company lawl. I ran into people I knew, namely Koosei, Reki and Wolfie of Edmowrimo fame, and a guy I only know through Tara who told me that he loved my costume when we met up at the April comic con in Calgary, and reportedly was the Voldemort at Hallowe'en who told Tara that I would be spared if I was a full-blooded Ravenclaw XD
Anyway, we got into line around 11 and waited for midnight. We had our books at 12:10, walked home, sat down and read the first chapter at 12:40. Finished the book at like, 12:57 Monday night. I don't need to say much about it, I'm sure everyone's heard or read everything already, it was a good enough book :D But I was sad to be made a widow so shortly after deciding to get married ;)
Then on Saturday... I packed some stuff, including the computer, and Allan helped me move it. Sunday was the same, though Dad got involved with that too and we moved a bunch of stuff like the bookshelves, the table and chairs, and some other things, including a TON of boxes. I made sure all of that was organized and done, and put together the table and TV+DVD stuff, because once I sat down to read HP, I wasn't going to get up again.
Tuesday I wanted to move the "big stuff" - my dressers, the sewing desk, etc - but the van was out with the caretaker and wasn't back even by 10 PM, so I bused home and that was that for the day :( Wednesday was the Weird Al concert at Captial Ex (more later), and Thursday was not only stinking hot, but I was alone in the house, so there was no one to help me and Dad move stuff into the house :( That sewing desk weighs a FREAKIN TONNE. Dad expressed regret that he didn't have a two-wheeler to get it downstairs, I said OMFG LET'S WAIT FOR A TWO WHEELER D: I couldn't lift it for long, and I had the light end :( So we left it on end in the spare room until a wheeler could be brought.
Friday I fell asleep for a 3.5-hour nap ;_; Set up the computer in the living room and got a little bit written at least. Saturday I went to a picnic, went back to the apartment and packed. Sunday I went to a birthday party, which had a bit of hilarity. I got distracted at Zeller's buying a present for the birthday girl, took a later bus than I intended, and just as I called Dad before my planned stop to check that we were going to HER house and not her sister's (where we often have parties), they were just a few blocks away from me on a different route. I got off a few stops later and they drove me the rest of the way XD
Monday, I packed some more and we moved some more stuff, namely more boxes. Dad had the two wheeler, so we did get the desk downstairs, but now without some trials and travails of a short landing and me having next to no strength in my arms XD Tuesday was inventory; I got home at 1:30 AM. Wednesday I went to the apartment and we moved some stuff, including my 20-gallon fish tank. I only have one little tetra left; even my 9" pleco died. (I had thought it was a great idea to turn off the filter for the "short" time it would be left at the apartment. Not so. Ooops.) Thursday, we went and saw Transformers with Casey :D (first time for those three, third time for me XD They no longer tease me about fangirling or playing with my toys) and yesterday... well I posted about that already :P
Still not quite done, but there is very little left. I have to go clean it today and we're going to move the freezer next week.
