Right before leaving Friday (quite literally), I decided to return Saki's head to his body ^^; So Saki will be with me next weekend, and Ren's head will be rolling around. Now I can put them out on the street to work for Ren's body ;)
The contest on Saturday was fine. I just go to help work the kitchen, but I took a look at some of the models. There was this one sailing ship that was fully rigged, it was insane. Then this guy, named Shane I found out later, came up towards the end of the day and started chatting me up. The first thing he said was "So I see you changed your look again this year." The first year I helped, I wore a VERY short plaid skirt. VERY. And I hadn't thought to wear shorts under it, and I later heard that the guys were taking bets on what colour my underwear was. (The consensus had been green, but it was lavender XD) We wound up talking for an hour or so, in which we talked about going to Kink night and stuff.
But THEN :D my cell phone rang and I ran off to answer it. I didn't recognize the number, but it turned out to be Shilo. HOW HAPPY WAS I??? Omg, SO HAPPY, there is not emoticon to express it <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 We wound up talking for 47 minutes XD Mostly about our kitties XD Gawd I miss you guys :3
Then I went to dinner with Mark :D We had okonomiyaki!!! it was really good :D The first bite was kinda "what?" but by the time I finished that one little piece, it was delicious. The server warned us that it might take an hour and a half to make, but that was okay, and it wound up being a really really well-paced meal. Edamame, veggie gyoza which totally pwned the veggie gyoza at Kyoto, tempura, and then the okonomiyaki :D After, we went for gelato on 17th, which was so tasty. We tried to go to karaoke, but the rooms were full ^^; So we looked at Video & Sound instead, which I hadn't set a foot in since I left Calgary :D I had a great time :3
And then today, we went to Marlborough for about half an hour, then Yukino's anime shop (so tempted by the one set of Clamp chess pieces, but only because it had Ashura in it and featured RG Veda........ and dad was like "thats cute huh" and i was like "dad. It has Ashura. DO I have to say again how much I love Ashura??") and then we came home. Trip wasn't too bad, especially considering the sun was on my back the whole way down ;)
And back to Calgary next week! w00t!
