I started a blog, primarily to document my adventures in sewing. It's rather appropriately titled, I think ;) Adventures in Bias Tape.

I started and have now finished a Regency chemise, and my stays are 90% done as well, as is my dress, which just needs the hem sewn. I tried on all three together for the first time today, and I am just in love with the overall look. I love what the stays do for my rack (lol), I love what the shift does to cover my rack, and the dress just looks amazing on top of it. It will look more amazing when I make another one without the added inch or so for extra boobage that I only have in modern bras.

Now that I have that project all but complete, I'm feeling a little bit at loose ends. I should start my other-people projects but am procrastinating (as usual). I should order boning for my corset, but just from the test fit, I need to make a new corset before I even bother with that. And I can't start on my other Victorian projects until I have the corset done. I bought some heavy-ish linen/cotton fabric to make a natural form Victorian petticoat out of (the weight, in my mind, will make a heavy petticoat that ought to hold out my skirts decently. We shall see if this will happen in practice.) and a ton of blue/yellow two-tone taffeta that I can't wait to get into, once I finalize what I want to do with it :3 I'm thinking a ballgown-esque skirt and a bodice I've lusted after for years, or perhaps attempting to recreate this gorgeousness I saw in Patterns of Fashion. I should have enough to make a Regency ballgown out of it, too.

Everything I want to make for myself right now really depends on undergarments. The only thing I could start right now would be the petticoat, except that I lent my pattern to my sister. Oops.
