I was hoping my patterns would come before Christmas, but looking at the tracking, they left Virginia, and went to Puerto Rico, before arriving back in Florida where it's been lounging since Thursday. Alas. It gives me more time to plan what I want to make! :3

Updated fabric list )

I think I can use the cream wool-look poly for a petticoat (helps sometimes to plan in winter), but then what do I make the dress out of? Should it match? It doesn't necessarily need to. Do I want an open-front gown with a visible petticoat, or a closed-front gown in which it wouldn't be visible? Ahhhh choices, choices.

The other issue I keep running into, after a fashion, is the historical accuracy part. Most of the blogs I've read about recreating dresses in this era have a strong focus on being historically accurate. This isn't a huge concern for me; I won't be wearing it to any "re-creation" events, and I've never been concerned about accuracy outside of certain parameters anyway (that used to extend into undergarments but I've learned the error of my ways since those dark days). But, I still don't want to look "out of place". Unless I'm going for a specific kind of look, I want to at least look reasonably "period". Then I start going into thoughts about how being period-accurate isn't a bad thing, because the structure and construction and materials all obviously WORKED for a reason... I can never decide :(

Undergarments first. Then I can worry about the dress. Yes.

Also need time/materials/money to start cosplays for the year! :D
