(no subject)

"Gosh self, you know what would be a great idea when you're working 2 jobs for the forseeable future but have only just started and haven't gotten into a routine yet? Let's make a new pair of stays! THIS MONTH!" (cuz of the Foundations challenge)

Reasons why this is a bad idea:
- routine hasn't settled out yet. 2nd job is non-negotiable to have, and belly dance classes start soon too. ROUTINES, I NEED THEM.
- no real NEED for new stays since I haven't even worn the last pair, nevermind when/where I'd wear a new pair, or the old one
- less than a month? To mock-up, fit, sew and completely make a new pair of stays?
- I've already started the corded petticoat and the last thing I need is another UFO hanging around

Reasons why this is an awesome idea:
- new stays!
- I'm reasonably sure that the pattern in Costume Close-Up will fit me with just a bit of enlarging width-wise (or perhaps not at all? Will have to measure)
- I really want to try this type of stay
- I already have most of the materials I'd need
- I don't have the materials I need to make the other corset I want (namely a busk)
- I'm feeling passionate about it, so will likely make good headway
- so I have an excuse to make MORE pretty dresses, hello.

Looks like I'm taking my book to work tomorrow...
