Bobbins, y u so silly?
Oct. 4th, 2015 09:10 amIt seems that not all bobbins are created equally. I did some research this morning and everything I read said that those bobbins should work. So I looked at them again, and picked a different one out, and attempted to wind it. Yesterday's bobbin had to be held against the flywheel for it to even wind, and this one didn't. When I put it in the case, it sewed just fine. So now I have at least one bobbin that works! :D
I am thrilled because I really really REALLY want to work on the Regency stays, and I know I can get a big chunk done today if only I had a machine threaded in white! I did test the Brother yesterday, and it does work though it sounds slightly off and it seems kind of... weird? Like there's a huge dial on the front for the different stitches, and a wheel on top with numbers 1-8, and I don't know if that's supposed to be stitch length or tension. I have a PDF copy of the manual, I should look it up before I attempt to use it again. The tension was a bit off, the bobbin thread was showing on top of the fabric.
But as long as Beatrice works, I shouldn't really need to use the Brother :3
