Sweater and other thoughts
Oct. 25th, 2015 11:12 amSome quick thoughts before I run out to see all three Back to the Future movies one after the other, in theatre :D
-LJ app stopped working on my phone, somehow. It would constantly tell me that I had no entries to display despite how many times I refreshed it. So I deleted it. The app works fine on the tablet. Minor, but irritating.
-Sweater sleeve #1 is started and maybe half finished. It's up to my elbow. It's a bit over half as many stitches as the body was, so why is it taking so long?! I've probably put 6 hours into it already. But I guess the body halves took me 3 or 4 days each, so I shouldn't be too surprised, I guess. Maybe I won't have the sleeves done this week, but I can block the bodies and put them together and maybe get a collar attached and wear it as a vest.
-Debating what fabric to use for my sewing project. I want to make an outfit wholly inspired by Evangeline's scullery maid outfit in Nanny McPhee. Her bodice is a cream base with small red florals scattered on it. I have a light blue with red florals in a similar pattern, or white with smaller, closer blue florals and a pale dot. I'd planned on turning the white/blue into a Victorian dress anyway, though I only have 4m and I'm not sure that's enough to get a skirt and bodice out of. I'm only focusing on the bodice right now. The other pieces are a striped skirt, cream apron, and green apron, which I may or may not need to decide on colours, depending on the bodice fabric. I'm leaning towards the white/blue.
