Apr. 17th, 2016 11:11 amI wanted to sew in the buttonholes of a dress I started last year, so this morning I got out Jenny and the buttonhole foot and decided to do some practice ones first, Just In Case (tm), since the plain zig zag stitch was a little iffy on stretch fabric. Good thing too, because she makes the first line of the hole just fine, but the second one is less a zig zag and more of a straight line. Even though the tension is fine for the first line, in the second, the bobbin thread is pulled up more and eventually the coloured thread on top breaks. Sigh. I'll have to call the shop I had her serviced at tomorrow. It worked fine before I took her in. The one-step buttonhole is the entire reason I bought that machine, and if it doesn't work, it's kind of useless to me.
Since I still wanted to sew, I got out some bias tape and bound the armhole edges of the Regency short stays I made about 5 years ago. They're no good to me anymore (really, I cut the wrong size to start with), so I'm going to put them up on Etsy.
And I still want to sew right now! But I don't really have a project to work on that is already started and not still just fabric and/or planning, so I'm kind of at a loss :( What to do, what to do?
