Work + Red Dress

I had made a Monday morning appointment less than 2 hours before I got notice for going back, and it's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so I had 2 long weekends in a row. Which was pretty smart for me, actually, bc I was off for 22 weeks/5 months, and I was not prepared for the realities of full time! Namely, my shoe choices. It was fine before bc I walked so much to and from the bus stop and around, but I barely wore shoes for all of that time, my feet hurt yo! But I'm enjoying it so far, and really I am very happy to be back.
They were planning to bring back more people next week, but our active cases cleared 1000 yesterday, so that has been put on hold. But so far, there is enough work to keep me on especially while I'm learning print shop stuff. Fingers crossed!
I'm working on my red dress again. I'm attempting an inspired-by of Caroline Bingley's red dress in 2005 P&P, which I bought silk for in LA in 2017. I have the underbodice made, the skirt mostly attached, and I'm working on sleeves now. I have NO IDEA how I want to do the overbodice. I tried draping a drapey bodice like in the movie (no go), I tried using those mockups for a smooth V-neck (ehhhhhh), or should I just do a gathered bib like in the base Laughing Moon #126 I used? I shaped the front panel like 126 bc I wanted a smooth underbust, with a mock wrap-front skirt, but it would be easy enough to add the bib and call it a day. I was hoping to have it done for the 17th as I have a witchy photoshoot planned with NutMegSews, and I still need to figure out some of the styling elements!
I'm also really annoyed that I had to cut the front skirt panel out of the silk that got soaked in the flood and needed to be washed. It's now a different texture from the rest of it. BOOOOOO. I'm gonna have to wash the whole thing, aren't I.
