Apr. 27th, 2021 08:42 amExactly one week ago, I got my FIRST EVER covid test. Not too shabby for 13 months into lockdowns (locally). I got the nasal swab, and it was negative. I just didn't feel RIGHT so I stayed home and slept for 2 full days. Then I started feeling better, and insomnia came back, so in the last 4 days I've slept maybe 14 hours.
Since I wasn't making my own covid antibodies, I went and got myself vaccinated! Most provinces opened AstraZeneca vaccines to my age group, so I made an appointment and went. It's a two-dose vaccine but the second one will be administered in 16 weeks or more. I am obviously still gonna distance and wear a mask and wash my hands and all that, but its nice to know that I am now more protected than I was prior to 11 am Sunday morning. Later that day, my dance friend who caught it in March last year posted that she was 390 days into covid life, and she is still struggling to recover. She has not been making progress with her physio and still lacks energy a full year later. I think of her every single time statistics and things come up. She is mid-30s, was in generally good health, with a young family. Covid nearly killed her, twice. So to all the anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers and the older lady who was sussing me out with "I don't know anyone who's had it, do you?", stop.
I've been low-key working on a project for Camp NaNoWriMo. I started a fanfic in November's project just for fun. It was just under 7k. I was writing a lot on it over the last couple months and decided my goal was to finish and post it. It has blossomed to 19k and I still have more to add. It's also the 27th, and I doubt it will be done by Friday, but it's close. I've even started a draft on AO3 with the first 3 sections. I just can't decide on a title. I like to use song lyrics as titles, esp when I've already started with that theme in this fandom, but nothing is jumping out at me.
I'm also working on a blog post about how I made my blouse-hacked-into-a-dress. Just debating how to organize the post. Right now its "my version" and then a how-to. But maybe I should post it as two separate ones. And in a similar vein, I want a smol mannequin not unlike the Ruth Watkins half-size form so I can make pattern drafts in small scale, especially if I ever get around to making videos.
