Jun. 15th, 2021 10:13 amOn Saturday I got my second COVID vaccine! I am now a hybrid AstraZeneca-Pfizer human and in a little under 2 weeks I will be fully baked. Not gonna lie, still hoping to develop a third arm.
Related to my last post about wardrobe, I spent the hours bracketing my appointment working with a vintage pattern. It came in a mail order envelope with a postmark of 1952, and is single sized. It is also one of the only ones I own that is punched, not printed. I made the blouse completely, down to attaching buttons. The instructions say that purchased shoulder pads can be used, and I think it needs them. I will be making some, I have lots of cotton batting to make some with.
I did pull out fabric for the skirt, but did not get to starting on it on Saturday. On Sunday the vaccine kicked my butt and I stayed in bed pretty much all day. Yesterday I was feeling good enough to go to work, but I still have a swollen lymph node, and I was pretty tired by the time I got home. I spent the evening in bed, writing fanfiction hehe.
Today my boss reminded me that our site boss does not want us wearing jeans at all, and her and I started to talk about it a bit, but I am the only one here (and also the only one wearing jeans) AND we are currently, as I type, listening to a talk from an Indigenous person who was in a residential school. (he hasn't spent much time talking about the school itself, he said that his talk is not about that. It breaks my heart that entire groups of people were not valued for their unique experiences and ways of life.)
If I can't figure out pants PDQ, I'm gonna have to be a skirt person until I can. HOpefully tonight I can spend some time working on stuff, my roommate will be home early and we have some trashy tv to watch.
