Burn burn burn
Jun. 7th, 2021 10:31 amI basically did almost nothing? Both days I woke up early and napped early, and dragged myself out of bed no earlier than 10:30. On Saturday I visited some local friends in their backyard and sewed! I finished the binding of the sleeves for my shifts, and then hemmed both of them. They just need cuffs now and they are done!
I did try one on to be able to measure the spot on my arm where the cuff would sit, and I am sad that the sleeves are very snug below the gussets and above the cuff seam. I made them a year ago, it would be a right royal pain in the ass to open it up to allow more room. I may just sell them, the necklines are also MASSIVE. We'll see.
I also decided that sitting in the sun for 2 hours without sunscreen was a good idea. I have a nice burn on my face, neck and arm, on the right side only.
On Sunday I visited my knitting friend in her backyard, and sat in the shade this time. i brought a sweater to work on, but I'm at the sleeves and had a moment of "wtf am I doing". Luckily I also had a sock in my bag. After I got home, I took a nap, and then dealt with the cat's litter box (so lovely, and literally 40lbs of pee-soaked litter) and showered and suddenly it was 9pm.
Just a few more days of stove purgatory! I'm thinking salad for dinner tonight. If I get some hamburger in the sink as soon as I get in, I can make meatball kebabs for grilling.
The friend I saw on Saturday talked about making a plan for some upcoming sewing, and I thought that was a really smart idea! I did go to the sewing room on Sunday morning and I feel like I have a lot of things I COULD do and not enough focus to start any of them. What I need is to PICK SOMETHING and start working.
