I did head down to Calgary, all by myself, where not one human turned up for my picnic. I hope the park patrons enjoyed my presence. I saw 3 crows, 5 magpies, and a mama duck and her three babies. I stayed for two hours with my writing and my knitting, and then I left. I went to my friends' house, whom I haven't seen since September 2019, and met their three ferret brothers, and then we had a late lnch/early dinner at a bar that was literally 4 blocks from the house I used to live in 28 years ago (and across the street from my two best friends' houses), and then I drove home. I still had a great day :3 The drive went well and I had prepared to be sitting by myself anyway.
Yesterday afternoon my roommate helped me build the three bookcases I purchased on June 29 last year, and they are FINALLY put into place. It took so long because it took me MONTHS to decide where I wanted to put them (Upstairs or downstairs) and then I needed help putting them together. They fit into the space PERFECTLY. Like so perfectly that a video of putting the middle one in would have been satisfying enough to watch on repeat. We finished up around 5:45, then took out all the garbage and recycling and walked to the store to pick up some cat food.
I had picked up some vet food while I was in Calgary. Guido got two spoonfuls of it, and then threw it up an hour or two later. He is very sensitive to chicken, and of course the main protein in every kidney food I looked at is chicken. So I stopped that promptly, I would much rather give him non-kidney food (for a short time) and clean up after the trails of food and saliva he leaves on the floor than have to listen to him cry and clean up his vomit. I will need to figure out a solution and SOON.
He's going in Wednesday for his teeth, and I'm starting to get really nervous about it. He's so thin, and he's been off balance, and of course he's old. I wish he could stay young and healthy forever.
