I feel like I've been losing time more than normal, and it's probably a combo of covid recovery (we're REALLY back to more normal levels of allergy-related congestion) and SAD fucking off so I actually feel like a human being again and my brain is firing on all cylinders but at random times.

So. Updates.

Roommate's mom: the specialist was sure that her left side weakness was from a stroke, but she's had a second MRI and other tests and there's no evidence of one. Gosh, could it be the lemon-sized tumour in her brain??? She has an appointment with him on May 6, and is currently working with PTs to get movement back. Today she gets a walker to be semi-mobile again. Her local family is taking care of her home and making sure her bills get paid.

My dad: had a large bruise on the front of his knee and in a band around his thigh. He said it didn't hurt, but it didn't look GOOD either. He finally saw his doc and got a knee brace and some tests. Results expected today. (He has to see his doctor which means... it's not good news) Also, he and my sibling, who live together, likely got dinged from their building management for cleanliness issues. I haven't set foot in the apartment in over 3 years bc it was so fucking gross last time that I refused to take my shoes off, and now they apparently have cockroaches. I know roaches themselves are not an indicator of cleanliness, I've had to deal with them before (at work, not at home), but if the building is trying to exterminate and they can't because my dad has 19 million plastic models and the carpet hasn't been really cleaned in the 10 years since they moved in, yeah, they're gonna be a lil mad about it. (I wish I was joking but if it's been vacuumed more than 2x a year since then, I would be surprised.) Sibling has said they made need assistance. I will help, bc of course I will, but omg. I will need lobster-boil showers after and carefully inspecting shoes etc for egg cases.

Work: more staff turnover. I came back to a new person who was not a good fit. They were here less than 3 weeks. Other than that it's fine. Thank goodness.

Sewing: finally something a little happier. Good Friday a couple friends and I had a sewing day. I traced off a breeches pattern for later fitting, and started an Edwardian petticoat. On the Saturday, I was so heckin tired so I slept or rested all day. Sunday I waited until... 1pm or so, I don't remember why (phone charging for sure, then some other stuff), took all my laundry down and pulled the sewing table out so I could keep working. Then I printed off the actual pieces (couldn't wrap my head around adjust a full skirt pattern to make it work) and taped them. Haven't gotten around to cutting it yet because...

I am hanging out at her house since last night until Sunday while they are vending at comic expo 200 miles away. The doggos need care, and so do the cats, and I have the whole house and all the puppy snuggles to myself for a few days, including the massive sewing room which is NOT under renovations rn. It does also mean sleeping in a new bed and with many animals, which I haven't done in months. Also commuting in. I plan to watch Bridgerton again (naturally; have already started), and Wandavision, and perhaps finish up my rewatch of the Mandalorian.

Last night I didn't sleep well (new bed) and I had all three dogs, plus at least one cat who allowed me to pet them and stick my nose in their back, so that was nice :3
