Roomie's mom has been moved back to her home hospital, upgraded from a wheelchair to a walker, been given permission to use the bathroom by herself, has near complete function back in her left leg, and today she was cleared for rehab!! Roomie was talking to her on the phone when I got home yesterday, and she sounds like she is doing well, no loss of memory or anything like that, just her motor functions.

Jacket is probably about half done. The other day I cut some black silk to make the lower part of the jacket and then did a quick try on sans stays to make sure the overlap from top to bottom was even. One of the back panels is narrower than the other somehow, and I just can't be assed to fix it because of COURSE I noticed it only after I was attaching the next panel. And it was a piece with the tail, which I had already fixed once bc I sewed it wrong sides together (i considered leaving it, but it annoyed me, so I ripped the seam and did it again). Then I put it down and haven't got back to it.

I also found the pocket hoops so I could measure the panels for the other petticoat and ripped them too. I have about 18" left over, which is juuuust enough for a ruffle if its 4-6" wide.

Saturday I went to a fibre fest and it was nice, small and not overly populated. I bought 2 yarns and a pin, bc that was all I had any budget for. I could have bought SOOOOOOO much more, even with all the yarn I have at home, I don't need more!! On Monday I picked up a pair of socks I'd been working on that literally needed 6 more rows (I did 8 to complete the pattern) and toes, which then got kitchener-stitched on Tuesday and now they are done!

I decided awhile ago that I must complete one type of project before I can start another of the same type, so now I have no socks on the go, which means I can start a new pair. And one of the yarns I picked up is a sock set, which was sold as a half-skein (50g, or 1.5 oz, or approx 200 yards) and contrasting mini, and is PERFECT because I like short socks anyway! Most standard sock patterns are mid-calf and are never sized right for my juicy calves. I like ones that cover my ankles but stay well below the calf muscle. So of course now the hunt is on for The Perfect Pattern (tm) and honest I might just stick with a plain one. The yarn is highly variegated so lace would get lost, and perhaps something with purls or simple YO-k2tog would be best for variety.

The other yarn I picked up was a single skein of DK weight, which isn't enough for anything fancy, so I'm thinking a hat. Again something plain to show off the beautiful yarn. My favourite hat is a leaf lace pattern that might work well as it doesn't have any holes. I also have a skein picked up like 4 years ago for another hat that I frogged, perhaps I should restart/finish that one too.

I'm so ambitious when I don't have to actually DO anything lol.
