...and immediately puts it back on the list lol

I DID finish the red Regency gown WOOOOOO!!! Go me! It only needed hemming and a bit of top stitching on the bodice pieces. BUT... I tried it on quickly to check the hem length I chose and the sleeves were ridiculous in the shoulder. I could see that one was definitely not placed correctly just by looking over my shoulder. I started it before the flood (3 year anniversary coming up), so several years and a pandemic ago. I've gained weight since then. So I will take the sleeves off to see if that at least makes the bodice fit OK. And if not... well. I'll cross that bridge later.

Then in the theme (apparently) of "finishing things I planned 5 years ago", I committed to turning the hat blank I bought at CoCo '17 into a brain hat which I have had my eye on since later-2017. Partly inspired by B&T having a silk sale, which allowed me to get black silk gauze to go on said hat. ALSO because one of my prescriptions was filled with brand name in October, and they were like "your insurance covers generic better, so we switched it" and saved me pretty much the cost of the silk even after exchange rates. WINNING! I stabbed myself A LOT and scratched myself EVEN MORE but the top is covered and is ready for braining.

Also partly because one of the fashion plates I've been looking at for trim ideas of the Amalia jacket has a very similar-looking hat, so I am intending to trim mine in a similar way. Plus, brain hat. Hehehe.

I did intend to start a blazer mock up after I finished the hat base, but A: i'm missing a corner of one piece, B: i need to read up on how to choose a size again (I've already printed the full bust pieces for the front), and C: I need to make it in a similar weight of the finished product. I'm making a couple of blazers, one in linen to go with the pants I made two summers ago (inspired by a beautiful lass I follow who wore something vaguely similar to Wimbledon that same summer) and one in the extremely light wool that is my Victorian Suit. I looked at so many coat drafts, particularly for men, and this blazer pattern is "close enough" in shape, plus already drafted! Ha! But I couldn't decide what mock-up fabric to use, so I said "not today" and did other stuff.

Namely pull out the Augusta stays pattern again.I really hate the way the side back piece sits over the hip towards the front, so I am just going to do another full mock-up that will hopefully be a finished piece. I would REALLY like to take a stay-making course somewhere, no one ever prepares patterns proportioned for hips like mine (not even the curvy pattern makers) and it would be nice to be able to have an expert's guidance. Some day.

Today my wrist is VERY angry because I was kneading bread dough yesterday, so we shall see what, if anything, I get up to this week.
