Hemd!

I found the hemd! I had actually found one of the body pieces in my initial search, separated from the rest of its friends. The rest was still together, but it had fallen behind the box the others were stacked on and I didn't see it until I went in and really stuck my nose into the situation.

I also found the pattern (website) I had been using originally. All of my links are still on my old phone which I plan to power up in the near future to retrieve. I think I've found most of them again, and of course there's some newer things that have been posted since I was last looking. But I did find the site, and I measured all the pieces to make sure they were correct, and after I watched The Mandalorian and made/ate dinner, I started sewing.

I hated it immediately. The linen is SO loosely woven that every stitch pulls and it's very wibbly. It's really not suitable for this purpose. I've already cut it though, so what else could I use it for? I will likely just keep going because... inertia, I suppose. For something that isn't going to see hard use, it will be OK. Not ideal, but OK.

Then there's issue of the overdress. I have absolutely nothing suitable right now, although I do have TIME to find something. I also want a ridiculous looking apron, because aprons are fun. OH perhaps I can repurpose the hemd fabric into an apron, actually... with a little starching, it would be great for that. I shall investigate.

Tonight I have a dental appointment and then I probably won't be feeling like doing much of anything. I was going through a bag of knitting yesterday and found a pair of socks that I had managed to completely forget about. How! The colours are so sunny, I'm going to work on them so that I have something fun on my feet!
