Check and check!
May. 22nd, 2023 11:55 amDress: DONE!
Pietra pants: DONE!
Dress is 100% finished except for some fiddly finishing bits like thread trimming and securing the fabric around the pockets and elastic in the sleeves (I thoght I found the 1/4" elastic semi-recently, but it wasn't anywhere I could find, so it will wait). I could wear it out of the house today if I liked. I have learned some important lessons such as:
How to put a zipped into a seam with pockets
Use the right needle for your fabric
Pietra pants were finished last year but I HATED how they fit and looked. Even with a bunch of shortening, the hems dragged on the ground and I really just don't like full width pant legs on me. SO I cut them off to culotte length a few weeks ago and today I finished sewing the new hems.
Now I am basking in the glow of TWO finished projects and am going to plan my next pieces :D
Yesterday I ordered yarn and finally started knitting the test knit I got into in April (ugh; I emailed the designer finally to apologize and catch them up on where I was). I got very good at German twisted cast on because it took me a few tries to catch on, and then several more to get the length right. There's a design element that is new to me, and i'm not sure how to join it to the beginning. The directions don't make a lot of sense, and I have yet to find a mobile-friendly PDF reader that will open the included link. I might just pick one from youtube and carry on and check the link tomorrow at work.
