the traditional friday post

Not much else happens during the week rn. I have paused unpacking as I wait for inspiration to figure out the sewing items (how do i have so many. how!), and the kittens are just little chaos gremlins. Sophie nearly fell in the toilet before I had a chance to flush it, so now the lid stays closed. They get locked out when I go in most times, because both of them have attempted to jump onto the tank, missed, and scratched me in the process. Toilet lid, tank, sink, and tub are all covered in dirty little paw prints. I want to move the litter box bc the smell permeates the entire kitchen, and while it doesn't precisely bother me, I don't like it. They get locked out of the kitchen many times when I am cooking too, because I have to remove them all the time from the counters while in use. Nightly races back and forth through the length of the apartment, and you wouldn't think you could hear thunderpaws on carpet in a basement suite, but you can! Calcifer fell out of the window yesterday and grabbed the blinds to stop herself, ripping a few of the slats in the process.

I love them so much, the little stinkers. As they are settling in, they are more enthusiastic about breakfast and dinner time, and have started coming to bed with me. This morning they were active but not too wild yet, and spent a couple moments looking for affection from me.

Have spent the last few evenings knitting. The kittens aren't too interested in the yarn unless they can see it being string-like, and its pretty easy to divert them from it. And they are also not too interested in snuggling with me (yet?) so I rarely have to fight for my lap or hands to be free.

And since the weekend is nearly here, I of course am thinking of stuff to do! I want to vacuum (boring, but necessary since I want to be more proactive about staying on top of housework), and finish up my dishes at last (I do not have a sink stopper that fits, so I have been making do with a small tub from the dollar store). I want to sort out the storage room situation and figure out what else needs to be unpacked immediately (like the bath mat).

And I've been wanting to sew something. I'm currently in a state of "omg what do I doooooo" with regards to the historical pieces I was making, bc (reasons, I know you've heard them all and had them all before) so I don't know that I'll make any decisions about that, but I do have a shirt cut out that I could work on, and one of the things I ought to make, particularly for the serger, are machine covers. I could also do some small bags or something, I've had pyramid bags on my list for awhile now.

My other weekend plan followed a rather complicated thought process, so take a journey with me ;)

1. Attempt to open tumblr app to remove a follower
   
2. Open Starbucks by mistake
   
3. Starbucks: Pumpkin season is here!
   
4. Have not had a pumpkin anything drink yet
   
5. Think about pumpkin drinks with Roomie M
   
6. Expo is this weekend
   
7. Roomie M and I stopped to get pumpkin drinks on our way to Expo last year
   
8. We are not going this year
   
9. But she has the weekend booked off anyway bc why not
   
10. We should get pumpkin drinks anyway
    
11. And hang out!
    
12. Maybe at the corn maze? The corn should still be pretty leafy, we could really get lost
    
13. And get kettle corn

So that will likely be happening too :3
