I left a note on the door (the same one from last year) warning the inspectors of my very adventurous kittens. Came home to the note still there but the site owner had written "they were great" on it hehe. Nothing out of the ordinary, but they did leave me another curtain for the shower window, which has a big ol' V ripped out of it right at window sill height and 2 sets of 4 perfect claw marks on either side. I expect I'll hear about the wall at some point.

Charm released their mid-May pattern at last (it was, as they said, a month of What the Actual Fuck?!) and it's a really cute bodice to go with the skirt released on May April 1. As soon as they posted about it on the 15th I was already planning to make basically the look that Gertie wears in the cover image. I had some purple ditzy floral that would have been OH so cute, but not much left. I didn't realize how little until I popped it out of the pile when I got home and yeah, MAYBE I'd get a skirt out of the remnant but that's it. So, the green version of the colourway it is.

Then I pulled out some of the rickracks I have, all vintage, because I had been thinking to get a lil better about adding decorative trim to pieces. The blues don't suit, being the wrong palette for the pink-and-purple floral on the fabric, but the variety of pinks were potentially good, and my personal favourite was a wide lavender that of course had already been partially used and was the least yardage.

Then I printed out the patterns and trimmed and taped. I elected to play around with sizing again and I am going to try a 6 upper chest swooping into the armscye for a longer under-arm distance. Will it be successful? IDK. I also asked K if I should do a mock-up or #yolo it, and she said to #yolo, which I was leaning towards anyway lol. I have plenty of fabric for a bodice that maybe doesn't work well. I have not given any thought to how that will affect the sleeve setting yet, besides the fact that it will (with the 6 being half an inch or so shorter through the shoulder but adding an inch in the pit).

Next decision will be the skirt length. The modeled photos show below-knee to mid-calf, but many people reported needing to take several inches of length out to achieve that. Holding up the pattern piece, it'll hit me in more of a midi length. Just need to decide if I want to shorten it or not. Also please explain why the lengthen/shorten line is above the hip and nowhere else. I can't shorten it the full 4-6" there or I'll completely lose the waist and design lines. (yes, I've decided on shortening it)

Heat is supposed to break by tomorrow, but today we are expecting a high of a 32C/89F. I am wearing a hockey jersey. Pray for me.
