While I'm unemployed (note to self: no one will hire you if you don't apply...), I figure I might as well be productive. I haven't sewn a new loli outfit since 2009. I have an unfinished Elizabethan outfit I started in 2008. I have tons of fabric earmarked for various projects I have never started...
So, I started working on stuff.
Elizabethan
As mentioned, I've had a gown started in 2008 that got put on hold and was never taken off (it seems like it was more recent than that, but it got put on hold to plan my trip to Japan that failed miserably, and I'm not sure why I never started it again?). I had finished the corset and shift and bumroll, completed the underskirt about 80% (it just needs to be hemmed and a fastener put on it), and did about 60% of the overskirt. Since it's been three years, I decided to start over. And document the process with photos! Yay!
Well, photos are for another post. I have remade the shift with the linen my mom gave me for XMas, the corset is stitched together and awaiting boning. I need it for the end of February for Investiture. Plus I bought 15m of some gorgeous blue wool blend that I can't wait to start cutting into. More details to follow in the photo post.
Upon realizing that I haven't made a new outfit in almost 2 years, I started to wonder if I was even really into Loli anymore? Someone somewhere on the internet made a statement once that people over 30 shouldn't cosplay/dress up like little girls anymore (or something) and that does weigh on my mind occasionally... But then I figured that since I regularly get mistaken for 25 or so, I might as well get away with it as long as I can.
I have three sets of fabric I bought specifically for lolita dresses, and I even started construction on one this weekend. Then going through the Gosu-Rori books, I found patterns I could use for a couple other fabrics I had kicking around as well, and I just bought 4m of this lovely brown that will either be a Victorian piece, or it would make some super-cute classic lolita skirt or dress. I will post info and photos of the fabrics in another post, too.

I bought the ears in 2006 and the wig in 2007/8 and I have never attempted to make the costume yet... So I'm really excited to start this project.

My nephew Jude has the most sticky-up hair known to man, and at least as I write this, his mother has a NERF dagger that's almost as big as he is XD She figures he'll be a perfect baby!Zack.
