Whine whine
Aug. 19th, 2014 07:48 pmI have GOT to start spending a couple of hours every day working on my belly dance routines. The show is in 4 weekends (if you include this weekend, and the weekend of the festival). I put it off all of last week and then spent the weekend sleeping a lot, tehre was a practice yesterday but between the plague, my neck seizing up, the resulting migraine and nausea, I didn't make it. Today I was all determined to learn at least the footwork, and it's too early to call it quits yet, but my intestines have been busy processing... something. And it turns into a very uncomfortable stomach issue. I have to totally learn one routine, and practice the one I know, a lot. It's stressing me out, and I really have no one to blame but myself.
A part of is that I don't want anyone to see me "failing", but, well, I haven't learned the one routine before. It's totally new to me. I've seen in performed twice, but watching someone else dance it is nothing like trying to learn it. It's OK to "fail", self. No one will expect you to have this mastered after one or two weeks. But you really will fail if you don't at least TRY.
