I was just starting to think about getting myself ready for leaving for my gaming group, when I saw the email that it had been cancelled. Sad I don't get to bust some goblin heads but now I can spend my afternoon sewing instead :) My dress has sleeves on and it already looks SO pretty. Next up, giiiiiiant skirt of doooooom.

I should probably call the repair place on Monday (or as soon as I remember while they're open) and see what they recommend for greasing the spiral gears in my vintage machine. She's 60 years old this year! She sounds a bit "dry" and oiling isn't helping AS much as I would expect. I checked the manual and it said to lubricant the spiral gears once a year or so and to NEVER put oil on them. I opened up the top to see what I was looking at and the grease that's in there may have been green at one point but it's pretty brown and gritty now. I don't know when it was last serviced or the last time those gears were lubricated. I only have WD-40 which would probably do in a pinch.

I would really love to find out where one learns how to service and repair sewing machines. I think that would be a really fun and useful skill.

Time to make some tea and rethread my serger to white. Whee!
