Spencer vest

I am nearly paralyzed with indecision over my little spencer vest D: Yesterday I was gung-ho to work on it and thought YES, for sure I'll make it out of pink! But then I didn't really care for the colour with the white dress. So I went to get the navy velveteen out, and also found a piece of lovely dark green velvet I could use. I'm hoping (probably a foolish one, tbh) to have some jewelry done for the ball, which if I have my way will be red, and I don't want to look too Christmassy. Ohhhh decisionnnnns.
Edit: I found a picture of some orange bordered sari fabric, and what is probably a poly that almost looks like watered silk? Better dig those out of their bin...
Edit 2: the Orange got moved, and the green is too floppy and polyester. Back to the drawing board!
Of course, as soon as I dropped the skirt down to the floor so I could hold fabrics up to it, Guido decided he wanted to be UNDER the dress. I shooed him away before he could get serious about it.
Then I made my pattern and cut the shape I wanted, cut the mock-up down since it's the same pattern, and then got all dressed up again to see how it looked. I cut it a touch too deeply around the bust, but that should be an easy fix.
I thought of another project I can use for this month's challenge, so the gown is off the hook for that lol. I feel so accomplished!
Today I went to get sorely-needed groceries, and I've had a low-level migraine all day. I think I'm just gonna chill for the rest of the evening and let things percolate.
I might as well put it here too. I plan to decide by the end of the month which novel I want to edit and work on. I'm pretty sure it will be the steampunk-flavoured one (MAYBE the pirate-y themed one. Maybe.) but after that, whichever one I pick will be worked on with abandon! I want to get back to writing too. I miss it a lot.
