ALL OF THE HEMS

totchipandaI was a hemming monkey this weekend! Yesterday I hemmed my cape and hood, and today I hemmed a double-layered cape with hood, the dress (it looks like a muumuu), and an entire kariginu (which has a lot of hems, since its sleeves are only attached for a very small distance). All I have left to do before Friday is a belt, and 4 small slouchy things to go on my legs and arms, and both costumes are completely done. Very proud of myself today.
That means I get to think about other costumes now! For upcoming events, I only need a shawl and a bonnet (bonnet yes, shawl if I have time/can decide on material, if not I have a back-up that will be adequate), and a very basic Victorian dress for the end of September. I'm counting Sophie as a "fun" costume, also for the end of September, and will be assisting on the companion costume to go with it.
I've been looking through one of my pattern books and dreaming of all the fun things I want to make. I drafted out a pattern for a small bustle last week. I don't think I need to make a new combination just yet, but I should make some petticoats and a corset cover. And then, ALL THE DRESSES. I hardly know where to begin. I think I need to put some more house-dresses in my wardrobe too, I've been wearing the one I made last year this weekend and it is GREAT. Comfy, it has pockets, covers me up while I have scaffolding outside my windows... All around good.
